Principal's Message

Welcome To White River Valley Middle School!

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  This year we are pleased to finally be at full strength and be a full middle school; as we welcome grade 5-8 into our building.  It has been an exciting transition for our students who have moved from a tradition Junior High and Elementary setting into what is now a full-fledged middle school!

This year we are really going to focus on continuing our emphasis of the district mission of Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships.  Our staff has spent the last few months developing a plan and schedule we believe that will allow our students to grow exponentially by adapting best-practice methods from both elementary and high school ideologies.  Our curriculum will focus on reading and writing instruction that is integrated across all subject areas, and it will further delve into a more rigorous math program.

With increasing rigor in mind, we will continue to monitor our students’ progress through MAP (NWEA) testing three times this year.  This will be given in the fall, winter, and spring to track our students as they go through the school year.

We have implemented many new programs and systems here at WRVSD.  I encourage you to become active in our schools and join us for our monthly programs’ meetings and school-board meetings to have your voice heard and help bring other great things to our students here at WRVSD.

I am very pleased with the work and preparation we have put into this school year, and I know all of our kids will grow because of our transition.

Respectfully,

Jimmy Beasley

Principal
